For the subway station Willy-Brandt-Platz in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, we created an interactive installation. During the light art festival LUMINALE the station became the venue for an interactive theatre play. Visitors and passers-by could trigger quotes of the latest SCHAUSPIEL FRANKFURT production. When somebody stepped on a character name printed on the floor, a spotlight appeared on the person, a quote spoken by the original actors was heard and the text appeared on a LED-wall.
During the time of the installation several thousand people took part in the underground theatre play, were given an immersive preview to the SCHAUSPIEL FRANKFURT repertoire and rearranged the quotes to their very own collage of quotes.
The project was developed and planned by ATELIER MARKGRAPH, SELIN Ă–ZCELIK and me.
The programming done with VVVV was implemented by PAUL SCHEYTT.
Project partners were MARTIN PROFESSIONAL LIGHTING, VERKEHRSGESELLSCHAFT FRANKFURT AM MAIN and SCHAUSPIEL FRANKFURT
